Now that we have been able to gain many orders under our belt, we currently have plans to donate money to different junior sail programs to make sailing more accessible to all people, just in line with our mission. Our first step in this process is to partner with our first customers. Lorne and Nancy Saul-Demers are a married couple from Nova Scotia, Canada, who spend the winter months in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, where they help provide financial aid and support to a small junior sail program.
Due to the impacts of Hurricane Beryl, many boats, life jackets, rigging, and even the club itself have been washed away or severely damaged and need a lot of help getting back to where they were—and even a bit above that. As a result, we will be giving the option to donate 15% to this charitable endeavor we are embarking on. Nancy and Lorne have been able to gather funding from several programs to help rebuild the program, but any money we raise through fundraising will go towards helping rebuild the entire island where the program is located. This particular island is named Mayreau and is one of the smaller islands in the Grenadines. To get back to where it once was will require a lot of support, as the lingering impacts are still very much present.
Any support or interest in helping would be greatly appreciated, and making sailing even more accessible on an international stage would be a major accomplishment for us as a company. We will also be donating 5% of our profits towards this mission, but we are asking for your support as well to help make all of this happen and to help this island grow.
Any questions about our endeavors and what we are trying to get done can be directed to wavelinkcompany@gmail.com, or you can call 902-412-4645, or simply use the contact tab on our website. We will appreciate any support you can give, big or small, and we believe that together we can make the best impact and really show the opportunities that sailing can provide.
